Infants - 6 to 18 monthsRatio: 1 Teacher for every 3 Children
Welcome to the Infant Room at Halton Hills Child Care Centre! A child’s first years are filled with exciting milestones and many physical changes such as learning to sit, crawl, stand or walk. Our infant child care providers plan many stimulating activities throughout the day to support the infants as they grow, learn and develop in a safe and reassuring setting. Our infant child care providers are comforting, friendly and caring. They spend play time on the floor with the children; playing, interacting and providing encouragement as infants explore the exciting world around them. It’s great to hear the children expand their vocabulary beyond “dada” or “mama” and a game or two of “peek-a-boo” is always fun for everyone! Meals & Snacks
For children under 12 months, parents provide all meals, snacks and bottles (in original labelled packages). All food and bottles must be peanut/nut free. When children transition to our menu, child care providers and parents will work closely to meet the child's needs.
Sleep Time
The frequency of naps is based around each child's individual needs. Infants under 12 months sleep on their backs. Our child care providers monitor the children at all times in our dedicated sleep room.

Daily Schedule
The infant room schedule is unique to each child’s individual needs. Routines and schedules from home are maintained when children first start at the Centre.
Arrivals and Departures Our child care providers work with parents to ensure that arrivals and departures are pleasant and reassuring for the children. Play Time During play time, our child care providers offer emotional and physical support to the children as they play and explore their environment at their own pace. Group Time During group time, our child care providers connect with the children using songs, puppets and stories. The children engage in a shared experience with other children. Outside Time Twice a day, the children enjoy the outdoor infant playground or go for a neighbourhood walk in our strollers allowing the children the opportunity to explore the world around them. |
